Blogging Moms revisited
I was doing research for my project and came across this site. It is a network for moms that blog. There is some very interesting stuff that goes on ranging from how-to on knitting to professional memos and political messages. It’s a very interesting virtual community that talks about how to parent and what it’s like to be a mom. I’m thinking of researching it more for my project but I thought I’d share. I wonder, in 5 years will mothers be looking to blogs for advice on how to get their sons to eat vegetables?

I found an example of chatting moms gone wrong today in the NY Times. One mother started a neighborhood group to get to know her neighbors and then someone posted something rather nasty about the local preschool and things went downhill from there, resulting in a legal scare. It was interesting to read the moderator repeat what Paul has said, that she had to quietly email others in the group reminding them to think before pushing the send button.

By the way, I read the latest dotmoms entry about freezing children at four, and just had to leave a comment there. I also posted it on my own blog.

So i thought this was interesting. I found it on at least 3 mom blogs. A lot of the moms are linked to each other. I must admit, I did a cyborg for myself as well.

I want to take this a different direction but still keeping on the topic of parents. I spoke a little about this on the post dealing with the two young girls who sing about pro neo-nazi ideals.
Is it up to the parents to enforce their children’s viewing habbits or should they rely on such tools such as Net Nanny (or whatever it is called). I wonder what the bloggin mums would have to say about this one…

good thought. I think I’ll post that question on one of the mom sites and let you know what they have to say.
